The moment I removed it from my Apple TV it stopped. I now note, whilst charging and at low charge that the trackpad on the remote will not respond to my fingers scrolling up and down, but will respond to clicks. I now have it on charge for the 9 hours recommended. is this usual with a new remote straight out of the box. All I know is that this particular app when installed into my Apple TV, was continuously pounding my remote with scans and interrogations and that’s what caused it to drop. The apple TV was ok with my iPhone remote. maybe I need to start a new discussion about it in the Apple forums to see if anybody else has discovered anything like this. ![]() This was actually the newest reference to this issue that I could find. When this happened to my Remote I started reading up on it and it appears to be a common problem and an old problem starting with the black remotes for the Apple TV 4’s. And this may not be the only app that interrogates Bluetooth to this level. It may even be an app on somebody else’s device. It doesn’t have to be that particular app and it may not even need to be installed into the Apple TV 4/4 K, it could be any app on any device within proximity of the remote that pings your Bluetooth. And then suddenly it dropped from 86% to 20% and counting. Each time I have charged it it has lasted approximately 70 days. And I’ve only had this one since last fall. Do not use rechargeable (Nickel Cadmium or Nickel Metal Hydride) batteries.It was also my original remote, the black one, that no longer hold a charge, but that was a gradual decrease over time… it was not sudden.Important note on replacement batteries.Install new fresh batteries of same type in your TCL ROKU TV remote control, observing the proper orientation as indicated in the battery compartment.Open the battery compartment and remove the batteries from the remote.Try again to re-pair the remote to the TV. ![]() Unplug the power cord from the power outlet, push the power button on the TV for ~15 seconds, then plug the TV back into the power outlet.
